Sailboat RC offers an IOM bulb [ballast] for VISS which is enhanced with a carbon-fibre coat and epoxy and a new standard within our brand. There is brilliant new clear coat (transparent) options and you can also paint our new bulb in lots of various colours. In 2021 we finished the upgrades and released a new design which won the World Championship (1st and 2nd place!). Its qualities will give you a boost so that you can generate more speed out of your IOM hull and get better overall performance. Let us elaborate a bit more on the changes which were made to our new design: improved lines (upgraded design) and overall quality of the ballast, improved weight distribution, there is a new fundamental option/effect (no paint job at all, just clear coating) and it is the most affordable on the list: “Silver Glass-Fibre” (GLASS-FIBRE REINFORCEMENT) on top of that, we also have a new essential/fundamental clear coating (transparent) option: “Black Carbon-Fibre” (CARBON-FIBER REINFORCEMENT), all the new clear coat options (not painted fundamental/essential options) have a very nice fabric pattern visible all the way through, as you can check in the photos here with silver and black, we used the highest quality epoxy resin over it so it doesn’t get scratch marks easily (you can put your bulb on the ground with no worries since it is more scratch-resistant now), our new bulb is fully finished and ready to add Craig Smith fin on it (compatible), at each end of the new bulb, we have installed stainless steel plates to achieve greater strength in case of some accidents (so if there are some hits while you are sailing or if you drop it on the floor onshore it will not bend easily), it has improved performance, most especially in stronger winds and also while surfing, if you want any custom RAL, please send us an email first and we will let you know the details for the order (you can also choose a colour similar to your hull!). Lead time for the new spare Sailboat RC bulb will be around few months because our new IOM sailboats are prioritized and they use a lot of our resources so we can’t push too many new ones into spare parts for now, and we would never compromise quality in order to get more quantity, hope you understand that. We will ship them by the order date as they come on our webshop so, first come, first served. NEW BALLAST OFTEN REQUIRES A NEW KEEL, KINDLY NOTE THAT PLEASE BEFORE YOU MAKE AN ORDER!
